German courses for the Frankfurt-Rhein-Main chamber of trades

VEITH Institut was selected by the Ministry of Economy of the German Federal State of Hesse- a central region of Germany where Frankfurt is located –and the Frankfurt-Rhein-Main chamber of trades to teach the German language to 14 young Spanish adults that decided to perform a vocational training in Germany. During 2 months, from May to June, 2013, they learned the basics of German in Madrid, before moving to the cities of Hesse, where they would work in the companies and craft workshops involved in the project.  This last one being part of a cooperation agreement between Hesse and the community of Madrid with the objective to oppose youth unemployment and promote the collaboration among European Union countries.

Greetings from the FORMER Ministry of Economy of the Federal State of Hesse (translation)

I am glad that some of the young people that will receive vocational training in craft enterprises in Hesse acquired the important knowledge of the German language at the Veith Institut, under the project run by the Ministry of Economy of Hesse and the Chamber of trades of Frankfurt-Rhine-Main. The importance of language skills is evident, that is why we pay special attention to make sure that the young people are well prepared.

The project is an essential component of a cooperation agreement that was established with the Community of Madrid last fall. A total of 50 young people from the region of Madrid starting this autumn will receive vocational training in the craft businesses of Hesse and thus meanwhile they will also get to know the dual training system.

By the end of 2012, 23.7 percent of all young people in the EU were unemployed. In Spain, one in two is unemployed. Young people with talent and high motivation are seeking for a new job challenge. For this reason we are pleased to offer them with this project a perspective for a common benefit. We cannot meet our demand for specialized personnel with the national workforce. For the region of Hesse it will become increasingly significant to ensure a skilled workforce through the European collaboration in the field of labor market and vocational training.

Currently, my ministry is developing a global concept to ensure skilled workforce in the Federal State of Hesse. In this context, internationalization plays a paramount role in the determining factors, given that Europe lives from collaboration - only as a team can we achieve the goals.

VEITH HWK - tailored course and learning material

A cornerstone of the didactic philosophy of the Veith Institut is the high customization of its educational services. On the one hand, in courses commissioned by companies or institutions, the daily progress of students is monitored and written and oral tests are given, just like in our conventional VEITH Basis courses, with the purpose of assessing with the maximum possible details the progress of learning. The results are summarized in reports that are periodically sent to the contracting entities.

On the other hand, if the circumstances of a course or the professional situation of the students require it, VEITH Institut offers the service of developing special teaching material, as was done in the case of the Chamber of Crafts Frankfurt-Rhein-Main course (in German "Handwerkskammer" = HWK), for which a specific vocabulary of 200 words regarding technique and electricity was edited, to deepen the linguistic preparation of the students that will be mostly trained to become electricians in Germany.
